This Gotcha Borg is warrior in the Knight Borg corps.  He is a master of chivalry and is always polite!  He can protect against any frontal attack with his CROSS-SHAPE SLASH!

Analysis/Strategy[]

Using this Borg[]

One of the upgrades this borg gets from it's weaker counterpart Normal Knight, is that when it slashes with it's sword, it projects energy from the tip, allowing it to hit further than the actual range of the sword. He has one of the longest ranges on a natural melee in the game. This makes approaching it difficult, use this to keep dangerous borgs at bay. The energy his sword projects actually gives his sword the same range as throwing his shield, though his attacks deal more damage when he hits them with his actual sword.

Like with the Normal Knight's shield, a cool tactic to use when in mid to close range is: throw your shield at the enemy, hit and cause them to flinch, hop to the side a little bit while your shield is returning, rinse repeate and end with a charged Cross-Shape Slash. Also, keep in mind that Shield Slash throws your shield like a boomerang. If you miss, try and put the enemy borg between Sword Knight and its returning shield.

It is also important to learn how your shield works, for the shield will stop anything short of an explosion if positioned right. It is possible to survive an Ultimate Cannon's Ultimate Beam by hiding behind your shield.

Fighting this Borg[]

This borg's sword makes approaching it difficult, and its shield makes fighting it from afar to be tricky. Additionally, the extended range on his blade thanks to the energy added to his slashes means that some of Normal Knight's counters aren't as effective when pitted against Sword Knight.

If you're using borgs with no physical attacks like Command GirlGatling Gunner, and Gatling Tank then the only way to bypass their shield is to wait for them to attack you at close range or to literally jump over their heads and unload a full magazine into them as their shields only protect from frontal attacks and Normal Knight is completely vulnerable to attacks from above.

Combo heavy borgs are very effective against Sword Knight, as they are best able to exploit the few openings he gives them. Additionally, like with many Knight Borgs , anyone who fights with explosions (Time Bomber, Normal Ninja, Battle Girl, etc) is a popular option as shields don't provide protection from explosions.
